Donation Description
You can help make Bellingham better for biking and walking.
Walk & Roll is Bellingham’s only all-volunteer grassroots advocacy group dedicated to creating the safe, healthy community we all want Bellingham to be. We envision a future where everyone in Bellingham can comfortably walk, pedal or roll anywhere they want or need to go.
We are run by an all-volunteer working board to keep our operating budget low, but we still have overhead costs associated with putting on rides, hosting events, community outreach and other advocacy efforts. Every little bit helps us get the word out, and do our work to make our city safer and more pleasant for us all.
This summer, we used some of our funds to pilot a bike valet program at the Bellingham Farmer's Market. After sponsoring a valet for two weekends, it was deemed a success! Dozens of people used the valet both weekends. We received over $1000 in donations to continue the pilot through August, and are now able to reach out to other community partners for permanent sponsorship. Programs like this are not possible without generous community donations, and they support aspects of our active transportation network that the City doesn't fund.
All donations to Walk & Roll are tax deductible. You will receive a donation receipt with our tax id number on it for your records. To donate an amount not listed, you may add multiple smaller amounts to your cart.

Walk and Roll Bellingham wants to make biking and walking better for everyone! We have been working informally for the past two years -- but we are now ready to become an official not-for-profit organization. Walk and Roll is Bellingham’s only all-volunteer grassroots advocacy group dedicated to creating the safe, healthy community we all want Bellingham to be.
Your support now will help us take us to this next level.
A lot has been done so far, but there's much left to do. Our volunteers have dedicated over 1000 hours to make Bellingham a better place for people to use active transportation options such as bicycling and walking. We have sent out 18 monthly newsletters, held 15 monthly advocacy meetings, convened 25 Board of Director meetings, and hosted or co-hosted 3 special community events. And now we have a website too!
All of this has been done toward achieving the organization's mission, which is "To create a safer, healthier, and more livable city by improving and expanding our active transportation system through policy, infrastructure, and awareness."
Of critical importance is the City of Bellingham's upcoming 10-year revision of both the Bicycle Master Plan and the Pedestrian Master Plan. These plans will shape the future of our city by establishing the goals and vision for upcoming bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure projects. Walk and Roll Bellingham will be there to facilitate community engagement in the revision process and ensure that the final plans serve all Bellingham residents who want to walk and roll safely.

Walk and Roll Bellingham is a Washington state non-profit. We are not yet a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, therefore, donations are NOT tax deductible. We are working towards the federal designation. We do not endorse or promote political candidates.
